Barbara Cooper – Owner/Event Planner
I created the Austin Event Studio in 2013 after planning parties, weddings and events for friends and family for years. I am a 3rd generation party planner, but the first to do it full time. My mother was the ultimate hostess, making each event welcoming, fun and elegant for everyone. It was important to her that everyone enjoy themselves and feel like they had attended something very special. I strive for that same feeling at all the weddings and events I have the privilege to help with. I love being a Wedding Planner! I have been asked many times “why do you like being an event planner, it seems so stressful.” There are many things I like about my job, but after an event when the host comes up to me, gives me a big hug and says “we could not have done this without you,” I know that I made a difference in that person’s life. I helped her/him through a very stressful situation with less stress and they got to participate in the celebration instead of managing it. That is a great feeling!
I have a degree in business and an eye for design. I love working with people and tapping into their ideas and imaginations to fuel my creativity for their wedding or event! I have experience designing complete weddings from concept to the send off. I also love coming in the month of a wedding to help take the stress off the bride, groom, and family by setting up the venue and making sure everything runs smoothly. In addition to weddings, I have coordinated and designed for music festivals, birthday parties, anniversary parties, baby showers and corporate functions. I believe it is important to keep myself educated, so I regularly attend conventions to keep up to date on the latest trends and technologies. I am honored for the opportunity to work with you!
